OLD SCHOOL COLLAGE, CUT & PASTE, PAPER & FABRIC, FOUND OBJECTS, ON CANVAS, WOOD OR PANEL.
THE PRICE OF FREEDOM is the large panel, approx 3′ wide X 6′ high. The original install was 2 of these Twin Towers at the Wheelwright Museum on Santa Fe NM. The title refers to an article about AIM and the Wounded Knee Occupation & Liberation 1973, which I participated in as a correspondent with AKWESASNE NOTES, MOHAWK NATION, while traveling with WHITE ROOTS OF PEACE. Other COLLAGE IMAGES are STAR BABY (left) and PROPHETIC (center).
I was there, some of my poems are included, with memorable photographs of & interviews with participants, newspaper articles & clippings and actual radio transcripts of AIM and FBI/DOJ. Rest of the News in Ithaca NY also had a team there that assisted AKWESASNE NOTES in the production of the book.
